Walking for Awareness: Hair At Nine Joins the NAAF Walk for Alopecia in Houston

This past weekend, my family and I had the privilege of joining the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) Walk for Alopecia here in Houston — an inspiring event that brought together survivors, families, and advocates from all walks of life. It was truly a day filled with hope, strength, and community.

As a certified trichologist and founder of Hair At Nine, I was honored to not only participate but also set up a Hair At Nine booth where we shared educational resources, scalp care tips, and offered some of our signature products designed to support healthy hair and scalp recovery. It was beautiful to see people stop by, ask thoughtful questions, and connect over shared experiences of hair loss and healing.

Many attendees were curious about how trichology ties into everyday hair care, and I was grateful for the opportunity to speak during the event. I shared my own experiences as a trichologist, discussed the emotional and physical sides of hair loss, and emphasized the importance of understanding scalp health as the foundation of hair wellness.

The energy at the walk was incredible — from families walking hand-in-hand to survivors proudly embracing their journeys. Each conversation reminded me that hair loss is not just about appearance, it’s about identity, confidence, and community.

Being part of the NAAF Walk reinforced why I started Hair At Nine — to educate, empower, and create solutions for those navigating hair and scalp challenges. Whether through our trichology consultations or our product line, our mission is to help people feel seen, supported, and confident again.

I’m deeply grateful to NAAF for creating such a safe and uplifting space, and to everyone who stopped by our table to learn, share, and support. Every interaction was a reminder that together, we can bring more awareness and compassion to the hair loss community.
